Goodbye Old Friend …
In 1973, experts scoffed at my crazy idea of a magazine devoted solely to personal essays about the past …
… then the first issue came out.
That was 40 years ago. And I’m happy to report that Yesterday’s Magazette has lasted all these years, preserving personal essays of the past as a yellow tabloid to a glossy printed magazine, and as a digital e-book and a free online magazine.
Thanks to the world Internet, Yesterday’s Magazette quickly reached every corner of the globe, from Baltimore to Bangladesh. And, regardless of cultural differences, I discovered that we all share similar memories from our past.
Since the very beginning, YM’s motto has been Everyone Has A Yesterday and everyone has a unique memory to share.
So I hope you have enjoyed YM these past four decades. I sure as heck have enjoyed reading your life stories and publishing this little nostalgia magazine.
It was truly a labor of love for me. Now I must put “my baby” to bed … for the last and final time.
Sadly, all I can say right now is … thanks for the memories.
